On top of store inventory, we also have a giant over-stock facility. Chances are, we have it in stock but we can also special order ANYTHING.

Avalon is owned and operated by Phil Burleson and Donald Rucker. Phil, aka Dirty Chef, (his cooking is very good, actually) is owner and chef of two successful restaurants in Germantown, MD. Check out wild boy Phil bombin' The Shed.

Avalon was founded in 2003 by Donald Rucker and is located on Route 1 in Elkridge, MD. Our beginings took place in Fells Point, MD as a small shop called Fleet Street Cycles.We moved to our Elkridge, MD location in 2005, changed the name to better reflect the store and haven't looked back since.
Learn About Our Name:
The word Avalon means "an earthly paradise." Collectively, this is how cyclists feel about the sport, its destination locations, and the store fronts that service their needs. And of course, Avalon is also the name of the trail loop at Patapsco State Park here in Elkridge. But it's important to point out that this name also represents each rider's personal Avalon - be it a long stretch of country road, Shaffer Park, Gambrill State Park, Fredrick Water Shed or anywhere else in the world.
Avalon carries the best gear
Yeah, we don't carry garbage. Need some advice? Its always on the house. We have a lot more on the shelf than you'd expect. If we don't, we can get it - lickity split. Just give us a ring. Ask for Gary or Big John. In the meantime, check out the lines we carry here.
Who are you guys anyway?
Who are we? Who the heck are you? Just kididng. Yeah, we play a lot 'round these parts. But our shop's mentality is simple - "If you pedal something, or want to pedal somthing, you're in with us". There are all sorts of riders coming through our doors. Hell, there's a lot of different riders working in our shop. Check out Phil, our fearless leader. Or how about Donald? Is he bringing sexy back, or what?
